Walking Picnics for 2021
Here is our programme of bookable Walking Picnics for the Summer of 2021. We limit our Walking Picnics to a maximum of 12 people, and have changed the way we serve our picnic food, to comply with Covid safety guidance. All events are subject to the continued easing of lockdown restrictions, and we occasionally have to postpone picnics if the weather is too bad. If you have paid for a Walking Picnic which we have to postpone or cancel, we will always refund your payment.
We expect the New Forest will be very busy this Summer, so we have avoided the weekends for most of our walks.
Spring: Birdsong and new growth
Thursday, 20th May, 11am. Anderwood
Look and listen for signs of Spring in this walk round the woods in the heart of the New Forest, followed by a picnic lunch.
Supper with Nightjars
Sat 19th June, 7pm. Latchmore (Abbots Well)
An annual favourite, we start with a picnic supper, then go out onto the heath to listen for Nightjars. We will end the evening with a hot drink round the fire pit in our garden.
Thurs 22nd July, 11am. Appleslade
It is the height of the butterfly season, so let's hope we have lots of sunshine and can find some of our favourites. Followed by a picnic lunch.
Far from the Madding Crowd
Thursday, 12th August, 2pm. Latchmore (Abbots Well)
This is our celebration of folk music. We start with a walk round some of the best heathland of the forest, then head back to our garden, for a late afternoon picnic, and some music.
Sat 11th September, 11am. Bolderwood
We will head away from the crowds, and look for signs of coming Autumn on a walk through many different habitats, then return for a picnic lunch.
